Know Your State Lands Lease
TLOA encourages everyone in California to read their lease carefully, no two leases are identical. The six steps below offer helpful guidelines on what you need to know:
1. Keep a copy of your lease handy, better yet electronically, and make sure your family or attorney has a copy.
2. Know your lease number (PRC or WP), the conditions within your lease, your land agent’s name and contact information.
Know and calendar important dates:
3. There is no such thing as a lease renewal.
Every 10 years you will be required to obtain a new lease.
4. If you transfer ownership, change title,or plan to sell your property during the term of your lease, you must notify CSLC.
