REGISTRATIONS DUE SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 - NO EXCEPTIONS
Even if you registered your buoys and lifts back in 2009-2010 under the old ordinances, you must register ALL OF YOUR MOORINGS again on the TRPA website: https://laketahoeinfo.org/moorings. No exceptions. Failure to register your existing moorings will forfeit your mooring allocation rights. The 2019 mooring registration program expires September 30, 2019. TRPA will not be sending notices to register moorings. It is your responsibility to register all moorings by the deadline. This is a different process and fee structure from your Nevada State Lands Permit or California State Lands Lease.
In 2019, only 1-year registration for existing moorings will be allowed. Future registration may include multi-year registration. This requirement allows a grace period in 2019 for owners to complete and certify their upland water quality BMPs. If you haven’t already done so, please visit www.tahoebmp.org to determine the BMP status of your property.
You must have a BMP Certificate in order to renew your mooring registrations in 2020, and to apply for new moorings in 2020. Visit www.tahoebmp.org to check your property status.
Complete and certify your upland water quality BMPs by October 15, 2019!
TRPA will review your application before you will pay any registration fees. TRPA will notify you of any additional requirements or questions. If everything is in order, you will be prompted to pay for your moorings, and then the process is complete. ONLY BUOYS will need to be tagged. TRPA will mail you buoy identification tags for you to install. Once your TRPA registration fees have been paid, you should send a copy of your registration to the appropriate state land agency.
